How your suit is made
From the first appointment to the finished garment.
-
1
Booking
Book through the reservation form, or email us with the dates you are in Japan.
-
2
An interpreter is arranged
If you would rather talk in English, we book a professional interpreter to be with us. There is no charge to you. We only ask that you let us propose the day and time, since the interpreter has to be booked ahead.
-
3
Your appointment
Come to the salon, where you have the room to yourself. Tell us what you have in mind.
-
4
Consultation
We ask what the suit is for and what you like.
-
5
Design
Cloth, styling and details are decided together — including the lining, which is where a suit becomes personal.
-
6
Measuring
We record the particulars of your body, not a size label.
-
7
Payment
Taken when the order is placed: the full amount, or 50% as a deposit with the balance on completion. Cash in Japanese yen, or credit card.
-
8
Basted fitting
Optional and charged separately — a trial garment. It needs a second visit and about two months in all, and it gives the best result.
-
9
Basted fitting try-on
A second visit, to try the trial garment on.
-

Delivery
Standard lead time is 45 days. The suit is finished on you at a final fitting in the salon. If you have already left Japan we can send it on, carriage payable on delivery — see the FAQ for what that means.
Standard lead time: approximately 45 days from the date your order is placed.
